Five-month-old female Indian kittens.
Babushka & Mini are a pair of twin kittens who are almost indistinguishable from each other. The main difference between the two is that Babushka has a condition called heterochromia iridis, which means she has two differently-coloured eyes - her right eye is blue and left eye is yellow. Apart from that little detail, both are almost the same in looks and personality.
Being just five months old, the kittens are extremely energetic and curious to explore their surroundings. It was a lot of fun to watch them play with their toys as well as with each other. We could see them trying to perfect the hunting techniques which they will probably end up using in a few months as they are outdoor cats. It's great that they have each other for company as it is a crucial stage of their development where they learn socialization and predatory techniques.
It was also amazing to see them be friendly with our resident cat Gaja, though being a senior cat, he didn't get involved in their games. They bonded well when it was time to relax and Gaja was happy to let them cuddle with him, something he never allows other cats to do!
Update: Babushka & Mini were boarded with us again after a gap of a few months and something weird happened - it seemed they had forgotten us! It's actually not that weird, since we had also observed that Genie had also seemingly forgotten us when he came to stay at Catopia after a gap of around 2 months. However, he was fine within a few hours and was his old self again. This was not the case with Babushka & Mini who were looking at us as complete strangers. Within a few days, however, we regained their trust and they were no longer scared. Babushka, especially, is quite bold and wasn't scared for more than 2 days. Quite a relief.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and uncle Gaja made us feel at home..😸
Thank you so much...
