Bro is a shy but sweet boy who stayed with us for just a few days. At first, he was quite scared and refused to budge from under the bed, even becoming aggressive when we tried to approach him. Within a couple of days though, he became comfortable and started coming to us to be petted. At the time, he was one of the older cats to be boarded with us at 2.5 years old. Since then, we have kept cats who are much older too and have generally observed that the younger a cat is, the easier it is able to adjust to a new environment and other cats. It also depends on the nature of the cat and whether it has interacted with other cats during its kitten stage. Tiny kittens are usually friendly and cats over the age of a year or two tend to be scared or hostile. It is only a matter of time before they adjust though, which can be anywhere between two days to a week on average.
